The Peralada Castle Museum is programming the “Cultural Experiences” for 2017. Besides hosting the two lectures in the International Music Festival (conversations with Franco Battiato and James Rhodes), a second edition of the Symposium on glass that began last year has been scheduled, shared with the Roussillon association, Albères Verrières.
This year, it will focus fundamentally on the porrón drinking jar with spout from the point of view of the chronology, type and dissemination. The last lecture will look at the restoration of the Carme Convent in Peralada (home of the Museum), documented recently by Inés Padrosa, who will by now have published a work on it. The lecture will be preceded by another by Joan Albert Adell, one of the great historians of Catalan mediaeval architecture and restorer, which will place the context of the above work: “Late Nineteenth-Century Mediaeval restorations in Catalonia. An Overview”.

The Peralada Castle Museum and, especially, its glass collection joins the celebration of the "International Year of Glass" during the last 2022.

Although the glass collection can be enjoyed, to a large extent, within the visit to the Museum, this year an unprecedented area of the collection located on the main floor of the Castle will be opened to the public. In these rooms, the collector Miguel Mateu Pla located his first glass purchases, so we will immerse ourselves in the museography proposed at the beginning of the 20th century inside a 14th century castle.

This visit will take place on Saturdays, at 12 noon with prior reservation contacting by email: infomuseo@grupperalada.com. The maximum capacity is 10 people. Price: €10.00.

Entrance: Plaza del Carmen (same door of the Museum). Punctuality is essential since the door will open and close at 12:00.
